Civil Service Coaching Club
The Club identifies and guide students who can contribute towards nation building through civil services and help them inculcate in them the right spirit to go ahead to pursue their civil service aspirations. Inorderto motivate these young Civil Services Examination aspirants, talks and interactive sessions with rank holders in UPSC exams, speeches of IAS officers are facilitated.
The Civil Service Club of our college aims to promote, encourage and equip students with skills necessary to crack UPSC Civil Service Examination. The club conducts webinars and online sessions (owing to the Covid pandemic) for the Civil Service aspirants of our college. Weekly tasks related to the topics like Indian Polity and Constitution, Geography, International relations, current affairs, Science & Technology, Economy, Ecology etc. are also assigned to the students so that they get to know more about the subjects. The club hosts interactive sessions with those who cracked this toughest exam. Last year, Dr. Aswathy Srinivas IAS (AIR 40, UPSC CSE, 2019), interacted with the students and gave them an overview of the exam, syllabus, prelims etc.
Baselius Civil Service Academy
Baselius Civil Service Academy offers training to Civil Service aspirants of Baselius College. The academy operates in collaboration with Ductus Academy. Due to the Covid pandemic, online classes on various subjects have started from the first week of September 2021. Classes are arranged on weekends for the convenience of the students. Subjects like Indian Polity and Governance, Geography, Economics and Sustainable Development, Indian History and Indian National Movement, Environment and Ecology, General Science, International Relations, Indian Society, Ethics Integrity and Aptitude along with GK, Effective writing, interaction with toppers and CSAT paper will be handled by a group of experts. Students can join the course/ training sessions by paying a small amount which they could also pay as installments. Study materials will be provided to the students. Attendance of students will be monitored and there will be tests towards the end of the one year course. E-certificates will be given for those who successfully complete the course.
The activities of the club for this academic year (2021-22) triggered off with a webinar that offered an ‘Online Orientation Program for Civil Services Examination’. It was conducted by the college Civil Service Club in collaboration with Ductus Academy on 24/07/2021, Saturday at 2.00 p.m. via virtual platform. More than fifty students participated in the online orientation program and cleared their doubts after the session.
