The Department of Physical Education was established in the year 1964. The department conducts Baselius Trophy Basketball (Men & Women), Football tournaments every year. The college runs a Football Sports Hostel under the Sports Hostel scheme of Kerala State Sports Council. The department has produced a number of international and national sportsmen.

The Department of Physical Education also takes initiative to conduct several inter-departmental and inter-house competitions and tournaments which not only improve the sporting talent of the students but also help the students to improve upon their organizational and leadership qualities. It has also set up a fitness centre for the student community.
