Kerala Piravi Celebrations by Department of Malayalam
In connection with Kerala Piravi Day, the Department of Malayalam of Baselius College, Kottayam organized Aksharakoottu, an arts and literature workshop for high school and higher secondary students. The workshop, held on November 1, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, was inaugurated by the college Vice Principal, Prof. Dr. P. Jyothimol. The event was presided over by the Head of the Malayalam Department, Dr. Thomas Kuruvilla. Dr. Manjusha V. Panicker and Dr. Nibulal M.N. delivered felicitations.
Dr. Rincy Thomas (Assistant Professor, CMS College, Kottayam) conducted the ice-breaking session. Sessions were led by Mr. Abraham Kurian (Director, Living Leaf) on the topic Cinema and Creativity, Mr. Amanath (Deputy District Planning Officer) on the topic Knowledge, Experience, and Joy, and a conversation on Double Sweetness – Story and Poetry was held with writer Kripa Ambadi and poet Mr. M.R. Renu Kumar. A session on Poetry and the Present was handled by Anagha J. Kolath.
Thirty students from 13 schools across the district participated. Certificates were distributed to the participants.
